Fall Backyard Wedding on Lake Willoughby

20190928_065.jpg

I have a not-well-kept secret love for Lake Willoughby, especially when it comes to photographing weddings there.

It encapsulates everything I love about Vermont - epic mountain views, cozy cabins, and a general sense of peace and quiet you can’t get anywhere else.

When Eamon and Allee reached out about photographing their wedding at the Notch House this fall, it was all I could do not to fall over myself to convince them to hire me. I didn’t need to worry, we connected immediately and it was a no brainer that I’d be shooting their wedding. Eamon and Allee are hands down the sweetest and most thoughtful couple I’ve gotten to work with to date.

I don’t normally cry during the ceremony, but guys, this one had me weeping, The love that these two have for each other was so, so clear, and they just could not wait to get married. Also, I really can’t help myself when the groom starts crying, and Eamon is such a beautiful crier.

We got just about all the weather possible on this fall day, and one of my favorite moments was while Allee was walking down the aisle - the sun came out right as she began her walk, and their friend Barry playing acoustic guitar began to play “Here Comes the Sun.” HOW PERFECT IS THAT.

The runner-up moment was during the reception, when it began to downpour and everyone crammed into the tent to get out of the rain. The trouble was that the booze was left outside, so a few brave guests weathered the elements to save the precious liquor.

Enjoy a few of my favorite highlights from this fun filled day, and if you’ve never been to Lake Willoughby before, hopefully these images convince you to go check it out.

And all my love to Eamon and Allee - I hope you especially enjoy wandering through these images with me <3
