Elegant Vermont Wedding at the Middlebury Inn

couple laughs together on their june wedding day at the middlebury inn in vermont

I’ve started dreaming about early summer weddings again. It tends to happen this time of year for me when the weather just won’t make up it’s mind on if it’s spring or not. I like to distract myself by thinking back on the last year’s warm and bright wedding days, and Hannah and Brady’s June wedding at the Middlebury Inn is a prime example of just that.

Bright and Fun Wedding in Middlebury Vermont

Hannah and Brady’s wedding day was full of sweet moments. Their first look was just the two of them soaking each other in by the gorgeous Porter Mansion. Hannah’s elegant dress and accessories were so beautifully understated I kept be compelled to document them throughout the entire day. During cocktail hour, friends and guests relaxed on the front porch in rocking chairs, laughing together and taking the day in. Hannah and Brady’s first dance in my first indoor reception in what seemed like forever after a year of weddings in a pandemic. These simple moments are some of my favorite to document, and this wedding day was chalk full of them. Which was by no means a surprise. Hannah and Brady were both very laid back and focused on what was important to them as they celebrated their next chapter of their lives - being around friends and family again. To see it all unfold just the way they envisioned it was just icing on their beautifully decorated cake.

How the Couple Remembers their Wedding Day

I recently reached out and they had so many beautiful comments about how they remember their day: “It feels like a dream. We had so much fun celebrating with our friends and family that by the end of the day our faces were sore from smiling so much. Our hearts were full from the ceremony and we had a huge sense of relief that everything worked out and everyone had a good time.”

I also asked what advice they had for other couples planning their wedding, and overall their goal was to make sure they and their guests were relaxed. “We figured if people were comfortable then we could have a great party. We also suggest carving out a little time for yourself throughout the day. Don't be afraid to take a few minutes away to catch a breath.” You know I love me a good couples portrait moment for just this reason!

Enjoy the photos from this gorgeous relaxed wedding day, and here’s to many more to come!
